HOUSTON – Partnership Tower, the newest office building in downtown Houston is now occupied.

The 10-story, 100,000-SF building, 701 Avenida de las Americas, is connected to the north end of the George R. Brown Convention Center

The Greater Houston Partnership, Houston First Corporation and the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau are now in their new home in Partnership Tower, the 10-story office building that connects to the north end of the George R. Brown Convention Center.

The new building looks out at Minute Maid Park, Discovery Green and the downtown skyline and is attached to the GRB via sky bridge. It also adjoins a 1,900-space parking garage that will also serve the new 1,000-room Marriott Marquis Houston. The hotel is under construction.

The Greater Houston Partnership occupies the top two floors, which also includes a large outdoor terrace designed to showcase Houston to meeting planners, business leaders and other dignitaries. The Partnership relocated from its offices at Two Allen Center.

The Harris County Houston Sports Authority and the Hotel and Lodging Association of Greater Houston will also be tenants, as well as retail space on the ground floor. A 400-room hotel above the garage is also planned.

“Moving into our new building is an important step, as we continue our efforts to re-imagine a walkable entertainment district for visitors and residents,” said Dawn Ullrich, president and CEO of Houston First. “This is a new day in the development and transformation of Avenida Houston.

“Being housed under the same roof of our partner organization creates the opportunity for synergy and gives us all a much stronger hand in promoting Houston to the world.”

Houston First Corporation operates the convention center and city arts facilities. Houston First owns the Hilton Americas-Houston hotel near the convention center and manages more than 11 city-owned buildings, plazas and parking facilities.
