AUSTIN – (Realty News Report) – Houston-based Newmark Homes is beginning operations in Austin, opening model homes this month in two communities. The builder operated in Austin for more than two decades before it ceased operations there in 2009 when it transitioned to a privately held firm.
Newmark will offer locally designed floor plans by award-winning Kipp Flores Architects in Lakeway’s Rough Hollow community on 55-, 63- and 78-foot wide homesites. Pricing will start in the mid $400,000s. Also in Lake Travis ISD, Newmark will also offer new homes for 50- and 65-foot homesites in Austin’s Provence community. Prices there will start in the mid $300,000 and go into the $500,000s. Model homes will be open later this month in both communities.
Newmark Homes boasts a nearly 40-year history and is among the nation’s largest homebuilders, ranked at No. 104 in Builder magazine’s 2019 list of the most active builders and reported 410 closings in 2019, an increase of 6 percent from the previous year.
Austin homebuilding executive Shay Brinkley will serve as President of the Newmark Homes Austin division, overseeing the company’s local operations. “Shay brings an extraordinary amount of experience to Newmark,” said Mike Moody, Chairman and CEO of Newmark Homes.
Brinkley started with Newmark Homes in 1993 as a Building Superintendent, and during his Newmark tenure served as Project Manager, Construction Manager, Division Manager of Newmark’s custom home division, Vice President of Operations in Dallas and Regional Vice President of Supply Chain Management. More recently, Brinkley has served as an executive at Grand Haven Homes and Brookfield Residential.
Newmark Homes builds in nine communities throughout Houston priced from the $240,000s to more than $1 million.
