Bridgeland Town Center Taking Shape with New Apartment Project

HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Howard Hughes Corp., the developer of The Woodlands, is developing a multifamily project in its Bridgeland master planned community on the northwest side of Houston.

The 358-unit apartment project will be part of “Bridgeland Central” the 900-acre planned town center in the 11,400-acre master planned community.

In a press release, Howard Hughes Corp. calls the Bridgeland apartment complex an “urban multifamily community.”

The new apartment complex will be “providing upscale for-lease housing in what will become Bridgeland Central,” said Heath Melton, Executive Vice President of Master Planned Communities, Residential for The Howard Hughes Corp. “Our goal is to promote an active, healthy lifestyle and provide our residents with walkable communities in natural settings, with expansive open green space and sought-after urban shopping and dining amenities.”

Starling at Bridgeland will be the first multifamily development in Bridgeland Central, the approximately 900-acre future town center which will intersect Bridgeland along Grand Parkway and is set to begin construction later this month. The apartments will be built on 15.2 acres at the intersection of Bridgeland Creek Parkway and Bridgeland High School Drive in Parkland Village

The 350,000-SF apartment project will offer one-, two- and three-bedroom plans. Each residence will feature smart thermostats and keyless entry, nine-foot-plus ceilings, quartz countertops.

Construction is expected to be completed by summer 2022.

Starling at Bridgeland apartment community is named after the starling—one of the most intelligent, social, and beautiful songbirds which inspired the likes of Shakespeare and Mozart, known for their mesmerizing flying formations and adaptability to new environments.

Short-term leases will be made available to accommodate those who are building homes within Bridgeland, which ranks in the top 10 in the nation for new home sales.

The Bridgeland master planned community, which  opened in 2006, is located south of the intersection of the Grand Parkway and Highway 290. It’s about 30 miles northwest of downtown Houston.

The  Bridgeland community ranked 10thin the nation in new home sales at midyear 2020, according to the RCLCO advisory firm. Bridgeland, located in the Cypress area, recorded 425 homes in the first half of 2020, up 21 percent from 351 in the comparable period of 2019.
