HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Regent Square, a 24-acre urban infill mixed-use district along the Allen Parkway corridor between downtown and River Oaks has just completed a park, upscale restaurant space and a seven-story apartment building.
The developer, GID Development Group, calls this new 8-acre addition “phase two.”
Green space, pedestrian retail and dining and park programming are key to the plan.
Houston-based Arch-Con Corp., led by CEO Michael Scheurich, is the general contractor with design by the Boston-based CBT architecture firm and Houston’s OJB Landscape Architecture.
“A classically inspired pedestrian promenade bisected by a signature water feature, tree-lined Regent Square Park encompasses two central greens spanning nearly an acre. Each is served by a covered pavilion to support upcoming programming, ranging from outdoor movies and live music to fitness and markets,” according to a GID press release.
The park is framed by 55,000 SF of street level retail – leased by JLL – including three jewel box spaces with rooftop decks at the corner of W. Dallas and Dunlavy streets.
“Our vision for Regent Square has always been to create a cosmopolitan destination along premier acreage fronting the Allen Parkway Corridor, fulfilling the need for a pedestrian friendly center that is energized by a mix of diverse retail, exceptional restaurants, and contemporary entertainment concepts,” said James Linsley, President, GID Development Group
The located just south of Buffalo Bayou Park, Regent Square is south of The Heights and north of Montrose.
A 590-unit mid-rise multifamily project called The Sterling is the new residential addition to Regent Square. It is anaged by GID’s multifamily affiliate Windsor Communities. The onsite leasing center is located 3515 W. Dallas Street.
