Houston Firm’s New Towers Rise Next to Minnesota Twins Field

MINNEAPOLIS – (Realty News Report) – Houston-based Hines is building a high-rise mixed-use development adjacent to the Target Field stadium, home of the Minnesota Twins.

Hines’s new project, called North Loop Green, will  include a 35-story residential tower and a 14-story office tower, 17,000 SF of food and beverage offerings, and a one-acre public green space.

One of the largest real estate development companies in the world, Hines was founded in Houston in 1957. Leadership of the Hines organization appear to be big fans of the Houston Astros, often seated on the front row behind home plate in previous televised World Series games.

The Astros take on the Minnesota Twins in the American League Division Series on Saturday, with Justin Verlander on the mound, in the playoffs leading toward the World Series.

(In late September Hines announced that the firm is developing a new Major League Baseball stadium in St. Petersburg, Fla. for the Tampa Bay Rays. The Florida development will have over 5,000 residential units, 1.4 million SF of office, 750 hotel rooms, seniors housing and 750,000 SF of retail.)

Hines’ Minneapolis Development

Located in downtown Minneapolis, the Hines project will be transit-oriented development, served by a rail line, at the nexus of Minneapolis’ public transit system.

Opening in early 2024, North Loop Green was designed by ESG Architects. The development will offer exclusive terraces on every floor, flexible workspaces, optimized indoor air quality, and a spectacular rooftop amenity terrace.

Construction on the Minneapolis apartment topped-out in early August and initial tenants will arrive in 2014. It will 350 market rate apartments and 100 short-term rental residences.

The residential tower will be connected to the office tower via a skybridge.

The office tower is about 70 percent leased with tenants including the Piper Sandler & Co investment banking firm and Verde Partners.Hines operates in 30 countries and .manages a $94.6 billion portfolio of assets across residential, logistics, retail, office, and mixed-use properties.
