HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – A popular Austin coffee spot from Bunkhouse Hotels has opened its first location outside of its hometown in the Houston Heights.
Jo’s Coffee is bringing its brand of Hill Country hospitality to a modern new building at 1023 Studewood Street at East 10 1/2 Street. Designed in conjunction with Hip.Hop.Design Studio, the shop is the eighth location since the original opened on South Congress Avenue next to Hotel San José in 1999
With an emphasis on stylish design and community-driven experiences, Bunkhouse Hotels recently entered Houston with the Hotel Saint Augustine and Perseid restaurant near the Menil Collection in Montrose. It will be followed by the Hotel Daphne in the Heights this fall.
Jo’s Coffee partners with La Colombe Coffee Roasters on its own blend of coffee, a medium roast with notes of milk chocolate, nuts and honey. In addition to coffee drinks, the selection includes breakfast tacos, pastries, craft beer and frosé.
“As our first Jo’s Coffee location outside of Austin, this is a huge milestone for us. Having just opened Hotel Saint Augustine in Montrose, and leading into our next project, Hotel Daphne – also in the Heights neighborhood – later this year, it’s clear that we have fallen in love with the Bayou City, and we couldn’t be more thrilled about sharing our beloved Jo’s brand with Houstonians,” said Lisa Bonifacio, president of Bunkhouse Hotels.
In a nod to the Heights neighborhood, Jo’s Coffee will feature a signature drink for the Houston location dubbed The Bungalow. The flavors include vanilla, cayenne, cinnamon, espresso and milk.
Open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., the coffeehouse offers seating for 25, including the outdoor patio, and a drive through. The interior design features terra cotta tile from Austin-based Clay Imports and custom furniture from sustainably focused RAD Furniture.
