MANVEL, Texas – (Realty News Report) – Lowe’s Home Improvement will open in Manvel Town Center in late 2025, adding a national retailer to the mixed-use development in a growing region of Brazoria County.
The home improvement store is the latest anchor tenant to be announced at the 273-acre retail center at the corner of Highway 288 and Highway 6 in Manvel, according to Dallas-based developer Weitzman. The project opened in 2023, with an H-E-B grocery store kicking off the first phase, which also includes dining, retail, service and medical tenants.
A long-term development of Weitzman, Manvel Town Center is designed to include more than 1 million SF of retail, entertainment, hospitality, medical and office space. The Lowe’s store will occupy 107,135 SF plus a 34,442-SF garden center.
Located 20 miles south of downtown Houston, the regional shopping center is in a hot area for homebuilding just south of Pearland. Nearby communities include national top-seller Meridiana, Valencia, Rodeo Palms, Sterling Lakes, Sierra Vista and Pomona, among others.
The Weitzman leasing team of James Namken, Kyle Knight and Emily Guenther has attracted a number of retailers to Manvel Town Center since breaking ground in 2021. The development is home to Chipotle, Whataburger, Jersey Mike’s Subs, Smoothie King, Great American Cookie, McDonalds, Teal Ridge Dental Care, Verizon, Memorial Hermann-GoHealth Urgent Care, Supercuts and AT&T. Upcoming openings this spring include Milano Nails and Aki Steak and Sushi.
The new Manvel Lowe’s is part of a national expansion for the chain. Lowe’s plans to open 10 to 15 stores per year in fast-growing markets in the U.S. over the next several years, plus more in rural areas, according to the company. Lowe’s operates more than 1,700 stores serving both do it yourself and professional customers.
