MIAMI – -The National Association of Real Estate Editors will hold its 49th Annual Conference in Miami in June. NAREE journalists will interview dozens of the world’s top real estate newsmakers, tour the country’s hottest luxury condo market and hone digital reporting skills.
Ian Schrager, creator of the boutique hotel concept, will keynote NAREE’s 49th Annual Conference Friday morning, June 26, at the InterContinental Miami. Other major speakers include I-Fei Chang of the Greenland US Holding Cos., condo magnate Jorge Perez of The Related Group, Scott Stowell, CEO of Standard Pacific Homes, and real estate entrepreneur R. Donahue “Don” Peebles of the Peebles Corp.

“Whether you cover national news or write stories focused on local real estate, the NAREE conference will make you a better reporter or editor,” said NAREE President Shonda Novak, reporter at the Austin American-Statesman.
Peer-to-peer NAREE University professional development sessions led by Daniel Taub, Bloomberg News; Kris Hudson, Wall Street Journal; Valerie Kellogg, Newsday and Mary Shanklin, Orlando Sentinel, will prepare journalists to excel in today’s evolving news platforms.
Conferees can view the work of leading real estate journalists as Los Angeles Times columnist and NAREE Past President Lauren Beale presents NAREE’s Awards of Excellence at the 65th Annual Real Estate Journalism Awards Ceremony, Friday evening, June 26.
NAREE’s headquarters hotel, the InterContinental Miami, overlooks Biscayne Bay, Bayfront Park and the skyline full of cranes remaking the city.
“Conferees will get a feel for Miami’s urban redevelopment and waterfront environs as we take the Metromover to Brickell City Centre and go by boat to Miami Beach,” said NAREE Executive Director and Past President Mary Doyle-Kimball.
