Texas Journalist Pam Yip passed away Sunday after an illness. She was 59.
For the last 16 years, Pam covered personal finance for the Dallas Morning News.
Pam was one of the hardest working journalists in the business. She was always kind, cheerful and even-tempered and she could brighten a gray day with a friendly word.
Pam worked for United Press International, USA Today and in the business section of the Houston Chronicle before moving to the Dallas newspaper.
Pam is survived by Maria Abad, her partner of nearly 20 years.
A personal note: Pam Yip was a friend of mine and I respected her dedication to her work a great deal. Pam was an outstanding journalist. She will be missed. – Ralph Bivins

I am heartbroken to learn this. Pam’s personal finance articles were extremely practical and well written. I once wrote her following an article that I felt was particularly spot-on, and I heard back from her that same day. She was so gracious and appreciative of the feedback. Her voice and good financial sense will be missed.
