HOUSTON – Sun Holdings Group has acquired the 190-unit Villas of Elysian at Sienna Plantation apartment project southwest of Houston. A town center retail project is planned for a site across the street from the apartment complex, says Sun Holdings Group President Jacob Blatt.
Holly Minter, David Schwarz and Tip Strickland of ARA Newmark – Capital Markets arranged financing for the acquisition.
Houston-based Sun Holdings acquired another multifamily project, which has 270 units, in Sienna Plantation earlier this year.
“Sienna Plantation is one of the largest master communities in Texas, which is situated in one of the most sought after suburbs of Houston. The immediate area surrounding the property is experiencing tremendous growth, with the planned development of retail and single family homes occurring over the next 5-7 years, which is in addition to a centrally located town center that once completed will be across the street from the property,” Blatt says.
“Together with Elysian at Sienna Plantation which we recently acquired and is located adjacent to Villas – we are now operating 460 units in the Sienna Plantation sub-market which gives us great scale. Together with Elysian at Cypress Forest, Elysian at Kingsland Ranch and Elysian at Liberty Hills we now own and manage over 1,400 apartments in Houston and about 3,000 in the state of Texas, all under our Elysian brand,” Blatt says.
