HOUSTON – Realty News Report editor Ralph Bivins won an unprecedented five awards in the National Association of Real Estate Editor’s 66th Annual Real Estate Journalism Competition.
“This writer covers Houston real estate like a glove,” the judges said of Bivins’ work. “Whether he is writing about new building construction methods, the future of the Astrodome, or the acquisition of the land and the building of a new campus of ExxonMobil, he gives readers new insights into area real estate. He is a must read.”
A panel of expert judges from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University selected all NAREE award winners, which were announced Friday, June 10. The NAREE competition drew entries from the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg News, the New York Times and other leading publications.
Bivins received two Gold awards, a Silver and Two bronze awards, including a Gold for analysis of the new Exxon Mobil campus in north Houston and a Gold for his social media program on Twitter.
Josh Salman, Sarasota Herald-Tribune, received NAREE’s Platinum Award for Best Individual Entry.
Houstonian Katherine Feser of the Houston Chronicle won a gold and a bronze award for Best Blog Post and Best Tweet Collection.
