HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Kiewit Engineering Group has signed a 52,834-SF office sublease for the 14th and 15th floors of Energy Tower IV at 11750 Katy Freeway in west Houston’s Energy Corridor.
The Energy Corridor, one of the weakest office submarkets in the nation, has 2.3 million SF of sublease space, second only to Houston’s CBD, according to JLL.
Kiewit’s move removes a sizable chunk of sublease supply.
Kiewit’s new office location will house the company’s oil, gas and chemical engineering group.
The Omaha, Neb.-based company provides engineering, procurement and construction services to the transportation, oil and gas, power, commercial building, water and wastewater, and mining sectors. The company also has an office at 3831 Technology Forest Blvd. in The Woodlands.
JLL’s Louie Crapitto represented Kiewit in the transaction. Andrew Zeplain of CBRE represented the sublessor, BASF.
“This new location puts Kiewit’s engineering team at the center of their client base,” said Crapitto. “Given the market, they were able to take advantage of availability in this premier office building providing their employees with an exceptional work environment in support of their operations.”
Energy Tower IV is a 429,157-SF Class A office building in Houston’s Katy Freeway West office submarket. Built in 2015, the 17-story building is located near Interstate 10, next to a Hilton Embassy Suites.
