HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – A new regional headquarters building will be built for Anton Paar USA in Midway’s East River development near the eastern edge of downtown Houston.
Anton Paar USAA ads to a growing array of office occupiers at East River, located on the former Brown & Root campus on 150 acres near the intersection of Clinton Drive and Jensen Drive.
When East River broke ground in a ceremony on Aug. 26, 2021, luminaries from Midway and the city held shovels and wore masks to guard against Covid. And there nothing on the site except grass.
Today, East River has multiple buildings complete and two more office buildings ready to start construction.
Anton Paar USA, a subsidiary of the Austria-based Anton Paar Group, plans to construct a three-story, 30,000-SF facility at East River, providing office and lab space
Anton Paar is known for its development, production, and distribution of highly precise laboratory instruments and process measuring systems, as well as providing custom-tailored automation and robotic solutions. The company is currently located near Bush Airport in an industrial building on World Houston Parkway
In addition to Anton Paar’s new facility, Midway is also developing the new 95,000-SF headquarters for the Port of Houston Authority at East River.
“East River is transforming Houston’s east side into a hub for commerce and culture,” said David Hightower, Executive Vice President, Investment and Development at Midway. “With leading companies like Anton Paar USA and Port Houston establishing their headquarters here, we are setting the stage for a thriving economic landscape.”
Anton Paar was represented by Chadd Bolding with Colliers while Hightower represented the seller. Anton Paar acquired a site at the southwest corner of Clinton Drive and Meadow Street in East River. The facility will serve as its new South Region headquarters.
The new building will include 12,500 SF of office space, 12,599 SF dedicated to technology, lab, training, and conference facilities, and 5,000 SF for distribution and shipping.
Atnon Paar is known for its development, production, and distribution of highly precise laboratory instruments and process measuring systems, as well as providing custom-tailored automation and robotic solutions.
“Anton Paar has experienced significant growth in Houston over the past few years,” said Brad Farrar, Vice President, Sales and Service at Anton Paar USA. “East River offers a prime location that enhances accessibility for our current and future employees as well as our customers. We are excited about our new location, which is close to everything the city has to offer and aligns with the future vision of East River. Our new headquarters will enable us to better showcase, support, and distribute our technology to experts across the region.”
The new Anton Paar headquarters will be situated just east of The Studios at East River, where The Office of James Burnett Landscape Architects (OJB) acquired one of the 10,000-SF Studio buildings for their Houston offices. This proximity to leading design firms, such as Method Architecture, and other innovative companies at East River fosters a collaborative environment that is central to the vision of the development.
In addition to Anton Paar’s new facility, Midway is also developing the new headquarters for Port Houston at East River. This 95,000 square-foot office building, along with a dedicated parking garage and skybridge, underscores East River’s role as a catalyst for economic growth and community development in Houston’s east side.
East River, which has a mile of frontage on Buffalo Bayou, has been mentioned in early discussions about activating the bayou with water taxis.
The East River is located 1.5 miles downstream from Allen’s Landing where Houston’s founders, Augustus and John Allen, laid the groundwork for trade on the bayou, giving rise to the creation of the Houston Ship Channel.
