Attorneys Lease Downtown Space

HOUSTON (Realty News Report) – The Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP law firm has leased space in the 75-story JPMorgan Chase Tower, the tallest skyscraper in Texas.

Tallest Tower in Texas

The law firm relocated from the 48th floor of JPMorgan Chase Tower located at 600 Travis Street. in downtown Houston and moved to the 56th and 57th floors, bringing its total to 45,125 SF. Diana Bridger and Brad Beasley of Cushman & Wakefield represented the landlord.

“2023 will be a year of strategic expansion for our firm as we continue to grow in key markets such as Houston,” said Bradley Houston founding partner Ian P. Faria.

Savills Corporate Managing Director Lesa Nickelson French represented Bradley.

“Bradley has grown significantly since planting roots in Houston at the Chase Tower in 2016,” said French. “As the firm continues to expand, it needed additional workspace to account for its increased headcount. Bradley wanted to remain in the building, and we identified an opportunity that allows Bradley to seamlessly expand its operation across two floors while maintaining its presence in the heart of downtown Houston.”

The building is located on the block bounded by Texas, Travis, Capitol and Milam streets. It is 1,002 feet tall. (The Empire State Building is 1,250 feet tall.) Developers in Austin have proposed buildings that may surpass the Chase Tower in height, but the Chase Tower has reigned as the tallest in the Lone Star State for many years.

Designed by New York-based I.M. Pei & Partners, the five-sided, polished gray granite structure. Hines has managed both JPMorgan Chase Tower and the adjacent 20-story 601 Travis Street for more than three decades.

Hines developed the building, which was named Texas Commerce Tower in the beginning.

After the building opened, Hines sold its interest in the building to Prime Asset Management, a firm led by the Lebanese Prime Minister Rafic Hariri. On Feb 14, 2005 Hariri was assassinated by a truck bomb in Beirut.

Hines and Cerberus Capital acquired the building in 2019. A significant redo of the building’s plaza has been completed.
