ODESSA, Texas – Avera, a commercial development, construction and investment firm, has broken ground on a crane-served spec building situated on 4 acres in the Permian Basin of West Texas.

Houston-based Avera, led by Trey Odom, has developed a number of industrial properties recently in hot energy exploration regions including the Eagle Ford Shale, Bakken Shale and Permian Basin.

Avera’s new 23,750-SF development will be located at Faudree Road and I-20 in Odessa, Texas. The facility will be expandable and include a stabilized yard. The building will be 20-ton crane ready, have a 26′ eave height and city utilities. The project is for sale or lease.

The Permian Basin energy activity has created thousands of jobs in West Texas in recent years with the advancement of hydraulic fracturing. Apartment occupancy is approaching 100 percent in some areas and a number of limited-service hotels and workforce housing developments have been constructed. Many hotels remain 100 percent occupied with waiting lists of oilfield workers.
