HOUSTON – The Avison Young, the commercial real estate services firm, has been named the exclusive leasing agent for the 2200 West Loop South office building, near the Galleria in Houston.
Avison Young Principals Sam Hansen and Doug Pack, who will lead the leasing team, were granted the assignment by the building’s owner Tenaris, a global manufacturer and supplier of steel pipes and related services, primarily for the energy industry. Hansen and Pack, formerly of NAI Partners, joined Avison Young last year as part of an effort to develop Avison Young’s project leasing portfolio.
Tenaris employs 19,000 employees worldwide and the building serves as its North American headquarters.
Designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, the 10-story, 201,720 square foot, Class A office building was completed in 1974 and renovated in 2000. The original developer of the building was Hines, a Houston-based development firm founded by Gerald D. Hines. In recent years, the building has been awarded Energy Star label and BOMA 360 designation. It is adjacent to the Royal Sonesta Hotel, just north of Westheimer Road.
“There are numerous amenities within a few steps and great neighboring tenants throughout the building. I anticipate a speedy lease-up,” Pack said.
Tenaris bought the building in 2014 from APF Properties. The building has over 50,000 SF of available space.
