HOUSTON – Empire Communities, a Canadian home builder, is starting its second U.S. development – in the Woodforest project in southern Montgomery County.
The company launched its U.S. activity last year with the 600-acre Dellrose community near the Grand Parkway in Cypress.
Empire also plans to enter Austin and Dallas markets, said James Miller, president of the Empire’s Texas division.
“We are on target to solidly establish Empire in the Houston area, with plans to expand our Texas footprint into the Austin and Dallas-Fort Worth markets, as well,” Miller said.
Empire launched its U.S. building program late last year in Dellrose, a 600-acre development in Cypress. The builder will have approximately 300 homes in the community, which is a project of Empire Land Continental, the U.S. development arm of Empire Communities.
Model home construction in Woodforest will begin in February, with presales expected to start next month. Miller said he was drawn to the community because of its location with close proximity to shopping, employment and amenities and its breadth of available home designs that carry generational appeal.
Empire is one of Canada’s leading developers and homebuilders, having built and developed more than 10,000 new homes and condominiums over the past 20 years.
