DALLAS – CBRE reports 20.7 million SF of industrial space is under construction in Dallas/Fort Worth, with about 32 percent of the buildings preleased, according to CBRE’s second quarter report.
Demand is high. During the second quarter of 2016, the Metroplex absorbed 6.6 million SF of industrial space, the best quarter since 2013.
CBRE Research has released the Q2 2016 DFW Industrial MarketView. Additional highlights include:
- Total vacancy rate continued steady compression, down 30 basis points to 6.4%.
- Developers delivered 6.2 million sq. ft. of industrial space to the market, with 3.4 million sq. ft., or 55%, pre-leased.
- South Dallas remained as a hub of activity, with 2.6 million sq. ft. absorbed during the second quarter of 2016.
Great Southwest/Arlington is the submarket with the most under construction activity for Q2 2016, with 30 percent, or 6.2 million SF, of construction activity in the market.
