Former Dallas Cowboys, Shaw and Staubach, Developing Residential Tower

DALLAS – Roger Staubach and Robert Shaw – two former Dallas Cowboys – along with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones are developing a high-rise apartment project in north Texas, reports Steve Brown of the Dallas Morning News.

The apartment tower will be located at The Star, a $1.5 billion development that includes the Cowboys headquarters, an Omni hotel, office space, retail and a 12,000-seat arena.

Shaw, who played center, was a first round draft pick of the Cowboys in 1979. His promising career was cut short by a knee injury. Shaw, who leads Columbus Realty, has developed thousands of apartment units in Dallas.

As a quarterback with the ability to scramble, Staubach, now executive chairman of JLL, led the Cowboys to two Super Bowl victories and threw 153 touchdown passes in an 11-year career. He attended the U.S. Naval Academy and won the Heisman Trophy in 1963. After graduation, Staubach served in the Navy, completed a tour of duty in Vietnam, and joined the Cowboys in 1969.
