HOUSTON –  (Realty News Report) – Gulf Coast Commercial Group has broken ground on Block 14 at Garden Oaks, an 18,000-SF project near The Heights,

The new neighborhood lifestyle center, 3201 N. Shepherd Drive, sits on a 1.74-acre site just north of Loop 610 and immediately south of W. 34th Street.

Houston-based  Gulf Coast Commercial Group, was founded in 1999. “After many years of quiet growth in the suburbs, we’re excited to raise our visibility in two of central Houston’s most exciting and rapidly gentrifying neighborhoods,” said Gulf Coast President Tom Lile.

The endcaps of Block 14  have been leased, including 3,100 SF to southern sandwich chain McAlister’s Deli and 2,700 square feet to hometown salad shop Salata. Danny Miller oversaw the transaction on behalf of Gulf Coast Commercial Group, while McAlister’s was represented by Clay Graham of Fox & Graham and Salata by Emily Durham of Waterman Steele Real Estate Advisors.

Cisneros Design Studio Architects designed the center, which is scheduled to be completed in July. The transitional concept offers a fresh take on design cues from the neighborhood’s Mid-century beginnings.
