HOUSTON – Hines is creating plans to develop a high-rise apartment project in the northern part of downtown Houston, according to a report in the Houston Chronicle.
The site, now used as a parking lot, is located catty-cornered from Market Square Park at Preston and Travis.
Hines has another proposed Houston multifamily deal in the works on a block bounded by San Jacinto, Caroline, Southmore and Oakdale, near the Asia Society building, writes Chronicle reporter Nancy Sarnoff.
After making other commercial develop its bread and butter since 1957, Hines moved into the multifamily sector in early 2011 and it now has 15 apartment projects under development, including one next to Water Wall park in the Galleria and on Westheimer Road, west of Shepherd Drive on the site of the old Café Adobe eatery.
