Houston Firm Moves HQ to 910 Louisiana

One Shell Plaza, 910 Louisiana, was the first skyscraper built by master developer Gerald D. Hines.

HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Ontellus, the nation’s largest privately-held data retrieval and claims intelligence provider, is moving its national headquarters to the 910 Louisiana building in downtown Houston.

Ontellus, which has achieved 20 percent revenue growth in the past year and significantly grown its workforce, will occupy more than 32,000 SF on floors 45 and 46 of the 50-story building.

The move to the 910 Louisiana tower from the 1010 Lamar Street building is planned for late 2019.

JLL’s Ronnie Deyo, Beau Bellow and Adam McCauley represented Ontellus in the transaction, which was a sublease of office space from Shell Oil Co. Cushman & Wakefield represents Shell Oil.

A few years ago, Shell Oil vacated the 1.3 million-SF building to move to a new campus in west Houston. Shell placed 800,000 SF of office space in the building on the sublease market.

Designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill, the 50-Story tower was the first major skyscraper built by master developer Gerald D. Hines. The building was named One Shell Plaza at that time and its companion tower was called Two Shell Plaza.

Completed in 1971, building underwent a major $80 million renovation between 1991 and 1993. A second major renovation was completed recently.

The building is managed by Hines and leased by Colvill Office Properties.
