Massive Texas Ranch For Sale

COLUMBUS, Texas – (Realty News Report) – One of the largest ranches in southeast Texas is being marketed for sale by CBRE.

The 7,269-acre ranch is three miles south of the town of Columbus and about an hour’s drive west of Houston.

Called the 2-G Ranch, the property, which is home to wild turkeys and other wildlife, has been a cattle and recreational hunting ranch, complemented by decades of oil and gas development and production.  The region, which has some hills and sloping land is within the heart of the Post Oak Savannah.

Darin Gosda, a Senior Vice President with CBRE’s Land Advisory & Development Group, will market the property on behalf of ownership, who have held the property for more than 80 years

“The ranch is supportive of mineral production, recreational hunting and cattle operations with existing barns, pens, windmills and water wells, all complemented by crowned, stabilized ranch roads.” said Gosda.  “Portions of the ranch enjoy some of the higher elevations in the area as well as some of the most beautiful, natural landscapes in the region.  It experiences year-round and migratory wildlife, such as whitetail deer, feral hogs, migratory birds, fish and occasionally, wild turkeys, making it appealing to both outdoor enthusiasts and ranchers alike.”

The property’s varied terrain is populated with an abundance of brush and mature hardwoods such as oak, pecan, maple, and cedar, all nested alongside rolling pasturelands and seasonal creeks, sloughs and ponds.

The ranch is south of Interstate 10, south of the Highway 71 exit.  Interstate 10 is the key highway connecting Houston and San Antonio.  The ranch is about 90 miles south of Austin.
