DALLAS – CBRE Global Investors has contracted to buy Mockingbird Station, a mixed-use transit-oriented development next to a Dallas Area Rapid Transit commuter rail station, according to a report by Steve Brown of the Dallas Morning News.
The project, which opened in 2001, was the brainchild of the late developer Ken Hughes of Dallas. Hughes transformed a Western Electric warehouse on Mockingbird Lane into a mixed-use project with 560,000 SF of retail, office, restaurants and 211 loft apartments.
An award-winning project, Mockingbird Station often has been lauded as an example of quality development that can be spawned by rail transit.
Holliday Fenoglio Fowler has been marketing the project, which is near North Central Expressway, SMU and the George Bush Presidential Library.
