Nation’s Fastest Growing City Getting New Project by Houston Developer

LEANDER, Texas  –(Realty News Report) – Allied Orion Group, a Houston-based multifamily firm,  is building The Southbrook, a 360-unit garden-style apartment community located in Leander, the nation’s fastest growing city.

Leander, located about 30 miles northwest of Austin, has a population of 62,600, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. The population report, covering a 12-month period ending July 1, 2019, said Leander registered a 12 percent annual population growth rate – the highest percentage gain of any city in the nation.

The Southbrook is located at 260 South Brook Drive and nestled on two separate tracts of land in Leander near Highway 183.

The upscale community is within walking distance to the new Austin Community College campus, St. David’s Hospital, and Capital Metro Rail and located adjacent to the new Northline master planned project under development.  

Founded in 1985, Allied Orion Group has a portfolio of more than 23,000 apartment homes under management throughout the nation. The firm, which has  acquired or developed more than 14,000 units, is headquartered in Houston,  with additional offices in Denver,  Dallas, and San Antonio.

At The Southbrook, floor plans range from one to three bedrooms and feature granite countertops with undermount sinks, upgraded stainless steel appliance packages, upgraded kitchen and bathroom fixtures, tile backsplashes, wood-engineered flooring, garden tub and upgraded showers, nine and ten-foot ceilings, and built-in USB charging stations. 

Amenities include a Dog Spa and Gated Dual Dog Park, attached garages, package delivery service, and electric vehicle charging stations.

The apartment project was formerly known as The Retreat at Oak Creek.

Leander “Catfish” Brown

The town of Leander was named after Leander “Catfish” Brown, a railroad builder who worked in the area in the 1880s.
