HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Tom’s Watch Bar, a 6,100-SF sports restaurant and bar with 100 TVs, has opened in downtown Houston’s GreenStreet mixed-use development.
The mixed-use project was first known as the Pavilions when it opened about 15 years ago. Basketball icon Magic Johnson (who has a net worth of $1.2 billion, according to a new Forbes report) had an ownership stake in GreenStreet at one time.
This is Tom’s first location in Houston and ninth location across the country, reports CBRE.
CBRE’s Brian Ashby, Sydney Dixon, Thomas Nguyen, Brandon Famous, David Orkin and Gillian Carmichael represented Tom’s Watch Bar in site selection and lease negotiations.
“It will immediately become the pre- and post-game/concert hangout for Toyota Center,” said Ashby of CBRE. “The audio-visual experience at Tom’s will be truly unique to Houston making it the new destination for game watching, fantasy drafts, tracking your sports bets and good times.”
Tom’s features over 100 TVs, an oversized, central screen and seats over 250 guests, with seating available inside and outside.
Located in Midway’s GreenStreet at 1204 Caroline Street near Dallas Street, Tom’s Watch Bar is less than a mile from Minute Maid Park. Tom’s offers a variety of domestic, imported and craft beers as well as craft cocktails and wine and a food menu.
GreenStreet’s campus includes office space, restaurants and entertainment places in Houston’s Central Business District. GreenStreet, covering four blocks near the intersection of Fannin and Lamar, stretching east from Main Street.
GreenStreet is owned by Lionstone Investments in a joint venture with institutional investors and Houston-based Midway.
Lionstone acquired a majority stake in the property in the fall of 2015.
“Lionstone is focused on mixed-use properties that provide a differentiated, unique office and retail environment, with high-level amenities. GreenStreet provides that, which is greatly different from much of what currently exists in downtown,” said former Lionstone CEO Jane Page in a 2015 interview with Realty News Report. “GreenStreet is well-positioned to capitalize on the evolution of downtown Houston with the substantial new residential and hotel development.”
