FORT WORTH – D.R. Horton, the largest home builder in the nation, reported it sold 11,135 homes in the quarter ending March 31, up 30 percent from 8,569 sales in the comparable period of 2014.
Sales for the quarter totally $3.2 billion, up 33 percent from the comparable quarter of last year.
“The spring selling season at D.R. Horton is off to a strong start. In the second quarter, the value of our net sales orders, home sales revenue and sales order backlog increased year-over-year by 33%, 38% and 27%, respectively,” said Donald R. Horton, company chairman.
Founded in 1978 in Fort Worth, D.R. Horton has operations in 79 markets in 27 states across the United States and closed 32,504 homes in the twelve-month period ended March 31, 2015. It builds homes with the brands of D.R. Horton, Emerald Homes and Express Homes.
