HOUSTON – Aztec/Shaffer, LLC, comprised of two divisions, Aztec Events & Tents and Shaffer Sports & Events, has updated its leases for 250,697 SF in Houston. Aztec Events & Tents has signed again with its landlord for 125,697 SF at 601 West Sixth St. The property owner was represented in lease talks by The Deal Company. Shaffer Sports & Events relocated to Houston, moving into a renovated, multi-tenant, 125,000 SF site at 10901 Tanner Road. The latter’s long-term lease is with Exeter 10901 Tanner, LP. David Boyd, Greg Barra and Wes Williams of Boyd Commercial represented the landlord. The brokerage team of John Parsley, Gary Mabry and Judd Harrison of Colliers International represented Aztec/Shaffer in both transactions.

Adrian Duenas and Marcelo Saenz, owners of BeDESIGN, a luxury furnishings showroom at 2016 West Alabama in Houston, recently purchased the property next door (2022 West Alabama) to begin construction on expansion of the existing facility later this month. The larger quarters will include 15,000 SF of indoor space and a 5,000 SF rooftop terrace. Just four years after opening, BeDESIGN will offer a larger showroom for Italian décor when the addition is completed next summer. Since opening in October 2016, BeDESIGN’s revenues have quadrupled from $1 million in annual sales to more than $4 million.

Newmark Knight Frank has announced the award of an economic incentive package to its client, AAON, Inc. ,for a manufacturing facility expansion at 203 Gum Springs Road in Longview, Texas. The package includes a $23 million New Markets Tax Credit allocation, a Longview Economic Development Corporation Cash Grant, tax abatements from the City of Longview and Gregg County and a Skills Development Fund Grant from the Texas Workforce Commission. AAON, a heating and cooling product manufacturer, is expanding its existing Longview location with a 195,000 SF building to function for both warehouse and manufacturing operations. The expected completion date is fall of 2020.
