Realty News Report editor Ralph Bivins has selected the most significant projects, deals and ideas of the Houston real estate market for 2015. These aren’t necessarily the largest or the first. But the deals point to future trends, potential gold mines, noble visions and notable accomplishments by the smart professionals who are making them happen.
Ralph Bivins’ Realty News Report Awards – The Best of Houston 2015:
Realty News Report Award for:
Best Industrial Project of the Year – With economic pessimism running high as 2015 came to a close, Clay Development & Construction stepped forward with a big and bold December move. Clay bought 80 acres in the Cedar Port Industrial Park in Baytown, east of Houston. Clay will develop 1.5 million square feet of rail-served distribution space there in phases. Company president Robert Clay – who is no rookie in the Houston industrial market – says demand is high due to robust growth in petrochemicals and plastics, plus the expansions at the Panama Canal and Port of Houston.
