FORT WORTH – Outlet store magnate Steven B. Tanger will break ground Thursday on the new Tanger Outlets Fort Worth in north Texas.
Located next to the Texas Motor Speedway, the new fashion destination will create 350,000 SF of retail space and feature more than 80 upscale brand name and designer outlet retailers.
The new development project will create over 400 jobs during the construction phase and over 900 full and part-time retail jobs once the center opens in 2017.
The Tanger outlet will be built in Champions Circle, 18 miles north of downtown Fort Worth at the intersection of Interstate 35W and State Highway 114, behind Bucee’s.
Mr. Tanger is President and CEO of Tanger Factory Outlet Centers, Inc., a publicly-traded REIT headquartered in Greensboro, N.C., that operates and owns, or has an ownership interest in, a portfolio of 43 upscale outlet shopping centers and one additional center currently under construction. Tanger’s operating properties are located in 21 states coast to coast and in Canada, totaling 14.7 million SF, leased to over 3,100 stores which are operated by more than 490 different brand name companies.
