HOUSTON – Frontier Utilities has subleased 19,149 SF of office space at 5444 Westheimer Road, near the Galleria, for its headquarters.
CBRE’s Steve Hesse, Brandon Clarke and Ryan Roth represented Frontier in lease negotiations with the sub-landlord, Baker Hughes, which was represented by Cushman & Wakefield’s Bill Romane.
The Houston office market has amassed a glut of sublease office space – more than 11 million SF – as energy firms have reduced their footprint. In the Galleria area, BHP has placed 462,000 SF of space in Four Oaks Place on the Galleria area sublease market. And the Tilman Feritta organization is constructing a mixed-use project on the West Loop, which will deliver 105,000 SF of new office space later this year.
Frontier Utilities, a rapidly growing retail electricity and natural gas supplier, is moving its corporate headquarters to the Class A building where it will occupy an entire floor. By more than doubling the size of its existing office space, Frontier said it is preparing for significant continued growth.
In addition to CBRE, Frontier Utilities was represented by Reid Wilson and Randy Lerner of Wilson Cribbs + Goren, PC.
