Tallest Tower Gets Branded a Conrad

AUSTIN – (Realty News Report) – A proposed 65-story tower – planned as the tallest residential building in downtown Austin – will be branded with Hilton’s upscale Conrad brand, the project’s developer announced Tuesday.

The 750-foot tower will include a Conrad Austin hotel and the Conrad Residences Austin.

Intracorp, a developer based in Austin, is developing the project at 311 E. Second Street at Trinity Street, near the Austin Convention Center.

The Conrad Residence Austin is a collection of 136 one, two, three, and four-bedroom residences with views of Lady Bird Lake and the city skyline. The interiors will be designed by Rottet Studio, a Houston-based architecture and design firm led by Lauren Rottet. Page will be designing the exterior.

Compass Development Marketing Group is the sales and marketing agent for Conrad Residences Austin.

The development will have 330 hotel rooms in the Conrad Austin portion of the high-rise property.

“The Conrad hotel brand was established in 1982, named after Hilton founder, Conrad Hilton, and has properties in the world’s most desirable locations, including major cities such as New York, Washington, D.C., Hong Kong, and London and leisure destinations such as the Maldives, Bora Bora, and Koh Samui,” Hilton says in a description on its website.

Over a dozen Conrad properties are under development in American markets including hotels in Nashville, Orlando and Los Angeles, and even more are underway in Asia including hotels in Shenzhen, Shanghai and Wuhan, China.

Described by Hilton as a “smart luxury” brand, some of the Conrad hotels have the art works of Andy Warhol or Picasso hanging in the lobbies.

Hilton has 40 Conrad hotels in 21 countries. The Conrad Austin will be built near the Hilton Austin, the Fairmont Austin, the Four Seasons, and the JW Marriott. The Conrad Austin will be Hilton’s only Conrad branded property in Texas.
