Rendering of Thompson 10 which will be built in Baytown.

BAYTOWN, Texas – (Realty News Report) – Investment & Development Ventures LLC and Sealy Co. broke ground on Thompson 10 Logistics Center, a 390,000-SF speculative project on 26.9 acres in Baytown, east of Houston.

CBRE’s Tom Lynch and Mark Redlingshafer represented IDV in acquiring the land and securing Sealy as an equity partner.

The project is located at the intersection of Interstate 10 and Thompson Road, near the Barbour’s Cut and Bayport Container Terminals. CBRE’s Billy Gold, Faron Wiley and David Huddleston will lease it.

Thompson 10 Logistics Center will include a 130,074-SF front load building and a 260,148-SF cross-dock building, each with 32-foot clear heights. The development is scheduled to be complete in the spring of 2019.

There is high demand for industrial space on the east side of Houston due to recent petrochemical expansions and accelerated import and export activity through the Port of Houston. This includes 3rd party logistics companies, petrochemical related users, e-commerce and other companies looking to expand their Houston footprint through use of a newly built, institutional quality property.
