DALLAS – (Realty News Report) – Uber Technologies, Inc., the ride hailing service, will open an administrative hub in Dallas that will have 3,000 employees, the company announced..
The Uber facilities will be located in the Epic mixed-use development on Elm Street in the Deep Ellum district in downtown Dallas. The 8-acre project is developed by Westdale Real Estate, KDC, Street Lights Residential and Vine Street Ventures.
San Francisco-based Uber said several hundred employees will be working in Dallas by the end of the year.
The project will create 3,000 new jobs and more than $75 million in capital investment. A Texas Enterprise Fund grant of $24,000,000 has been extended to Uber Technologies, Inc.

“Dallas became the first city in Texas where the Uber app was available in 2012, and since then Texas has been a hub of innovation for our platform,” said Dara Khosrowshahi, CEO of Uber. “Uber is excited to bring this major investment to Texas and to increase our commitment to the City of Dallas.“
Uber will be leasing 450,000 SF of office space in Deep Ellum.
Houston-based Hines is also developing a separate 12-story mixed-use project in Deep Ellum.
