THE WOODLANDS – (Realty News Report) – Home sales were up 256 percent in The Woodlands Hills, a new 2,000-acre master planned community being developed 13 miles north of The Woodlands.
Developed by the Howard Hughes Corp., The Woodlands Hills recorded its initial home sales in the second quarter of 2018 when the Conroe-area community opened.
Howard Hughes, which just announced its annual results, reported 121 new homes were sold in The Woodlands Hills in 2019, compared to 35 in 2018, the community’s first year of operations.
In the Bridgeland community, 739 homes were sold in 2019, up 49 percent from the 495 homes sold in 2018.
In The Woodlands, the 28,000-acre legacy master planned community that is nearing the end of its home selling life cycle, 319 new homes were sold in 2019, down 7 percent from 343 homes sold in 2018.
Howard Hughes Corp.’s Summerlin master planned community in Las Vegas was named “Master Planned Community of the Year” in 2019 by the National Association of Home Builders. Summerlin had 1,292 home sales in 2019, up 1.3 percent from 2018.
The Woodlands Hills is located on FM 830 on the west side of I-45, with property boundary extending north to FM 1097 and south to League Line Road. Located more than 40 miles north of downtown Houston, the community is between the Conroe and Willis communities and is in the Willis school district. The Woodlands Hills will have 4,500 homes.
After decades of building, the Dallas-based developer is nearing completion on The Woodlands, a 28,000-acre community that has a significant amount of office development and retail and a population of more than 100,000. Howard Hughes Corp. recently announced it is moving its headquarters from Dallas to The Woodlands.
