Midway Creates In-House Retail Leasing Unit

HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – The Midway real estate firm, which has developed a number of noteworthy mixed-use properties, has created an in-house department to handle retail leasing of its developments.

The firm has hired veteran retail specialist Lacee Jacobs to lead its Strategic Leasing and Advisory Services team.

Houston-based Midway has developed CityCentre in West Houston, GreenStreet in downtown and it is planning the 150-acre East River on the eastern edge of downtown.

“We know our projects better than anyone else, so we are best equipped to lease them,” said Midway’s Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Brinsden, who was recently appointed  ULI Americas Chairman for the non-profit Urban Land Institute.. “With a true understanding of Midway’s culture, values, and vision for our properties, the new Strategic Leasing and Advisory team is uniquely positioned to bolster our placemaking objectives and increase investor value.”

Lacee Jacobs began her career at Midway, and now returns as Vice President of Strategic Leasing and Advisory. Drawing on nearly a decade of industry experience, she specializes in merchandising and advising national, regional, first-to-market, and experiential brands. Most recently, Lacee worked with CBRE, strengthening their urban leasing team in Houston with her local and global perspective of the real estate market. Prior to CBRE, Lacee worked with EDGE Realty and Waterman Steele.

“Behind every successful Midway venture is an extraordinary team of talented and dedicated people. Lacee will excel in this position and we are thrilled to welcome her back to head up this specialized leasing group,” said Jamie Bryant, Midway’s Chief Operating Officer.

Midway’s long and successful track record as investors, partners and managers serves as the underpinning of its new Strategic Leasing and Advisory group. The firm’s other specialized groups include Investment & Capital Markets, Investment & Development, Marketing & Communications, Financial & Team Operations, and Property Operations.

In addition to managing office, retail, and a portfolio of multifamily properties, Midway Property Operations has branched out to manage third party properties such as The Alexan at CityCentre, St. Andrie at Buffalo Heights and Memorial Heights.
