Traditional Neighborhood Underway in Bridgeland

HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – A “traditional neighborhood” designed with principles pioneered by legendary architect Andres Duany, is planned for a section of Bridgeland in northwest Houston.

The new neighborhood, called Parkland Row, will have 288 homesites with a centralized park and a lake.

“Not only will Parkland Row bring a sought-after architectural style and neighborhood design to Bridgeland, but it will continue the path forward for The Howard Hughes Corp. as responsible stewards of the environment with sustainable, forward-thinking design, and a focus on health and wellness,” said Heath Melton, executive vice president of MPC Residential for The Howard Hughes Corporation. “This project will build on our previous success and lead the way forward to further integrate the residential experience with the surrounding ecosystem.”

The “traditional neighborhood design” school of thought envisions neighborhoods that are – above all – walkable. Typically, homes are set closer to the curb in these traditional communities.

For the Howard Hughes Corp. Parkland Row is the second traditional neighborhood in Parkland Village. It follows the development of Parkland Square, also built by David Weekley Homes, which earned a Gold award at the Texas Excellence in Landscaping Awards and a Sustainability Star Designation by the West Houston Association in 2021.

Howard Hughes Corp., which developed The Woodlands, described it thusly in a press release: “Traditional neighborhood design neighborhoods incorporate residential, commercial and educational elements that are designed to create a livable and walkable community of well-connected streets and pathways, public spaces and more. The ease of walkability between homes, parks and commercial venues will promote Parkland Row’s desirability as an all-inclusive community that emphasizes connectivity.”

Parkland Row, located near the intersection of Fry Road and Tuckerton Road, will feature homes ranging from 1400 to 3400 SF. The homes’ architectural style is called “Modern Farmhouse” and “Modern Prairie.”

Said Brock Eller, division president for David Weekley Homes: “Our Modern Farmhouse and Modern Prairie homes, paired with the walkability and amenities of the community, make this an excellent, family-friendly destination for our homebuyers to start their next chapter.”

All street names in Parkland Row will end with “ous” such as Adventurous, Joyous, Marvelous, and Courteous.

Bridgeland is an 11,500-acre master planned community located in Cypress, near the Grand Parkway, is ranked as one of the top-selling master planned communities in Texas and Number 14 in the nation.
