HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Jones on Main, an ornate 93-year-old building in downtown Houston, has attracted new tenants.
The office building, 712 Main Street, is a 37-story Art Deco building. The tower was commissioned in 1929 by Jesse H. Jones and it remained the tallest building in Houston until 1963. The tower is a City of Houston Landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Jones, an early-day publisher of the Houston Chronicle, served as Secretary of Commerce under President Franklin D. Roosevelt in the 1940s.
Lionstone Investments has announced that Grid United and Seaport Global will move into office spaces totaling more than 11,000 SF.
The 890,380-SF Jones on Main is a mixed-use historic building that has been renovated with new technology and tenant amenities, including a private rooftop bar to open later this Fall. Spanning an entire city block on Main Street, Jones on Main encompasses four interconnected buildings with over 800,000 SF of Class A office space, including WeWork, Shake Shack and Finn Hall, its award-winning food hall with chef-driven concepts.
Grid United, an electric transmission development company, recently signed a five-year lease, moving into an 8,620 SF office space in this month. CBRE’s Parker Duffie and Jason Presley represented the landlord, Lionstone Investments, in the transaction, while Walker Ryan and Charles Fertitta of Colliers represented the tenant, Grid United.

Seaport Global, a privately held capital markets firm specializing in global credit sales, trading and research and investment banking, completed their move in September 2022 into a 2,596-SF office space. CBRE’s Parker Duffie andJason Presley represented the landlord, Lionstone Investments, in the transaction, while Roy Sweeney of Colliers represented the tenant, Seaport Global, who signed a three-year lease.
Lionstone Investments is the owner of Jones on Main. Midway Property Management is engaged as the property manager for the building and Midway Companies is also a minority ownership joint venture partner in the building.
