HOUSTON – Pathmark Transportation, a logistics operator that handles goods for Bed Bath & Beyond and other major firms, has signed four leases totaling 334,000 square feet of warehouse/distribution space to accommodate its growing business.
Cameron Maness of Transwestern represented the logistics aggregator in separate transactions in Atlanta; Houston; Orlando, Florida; and Memphis.
Pathmark’s expansion has been driven in part by the addition of Bed, Bath & Beyond to its client roster in selected markets. The national retailer chose Pathmark to handle its product aggregation and distribution due to its sophisticated logistics automation and its ability to expand into new markets nimbly and quickly.
The most recent lease transaction was for 76,234 square feet at 14810 North Freeway in Houston. This follows three leases in the fourth quarter of 2014 in Atlanta, Memphis and Orlando. In all four cities, it was important to Pathmark that the facilities have expansion potential as the company continues to grow its portfolio of clients in these new markets.
“As a leader in the transportation solutions industry, Pathmark required quality industrial space that could support highly sophisticated distribution processes,” Maness said. “Taking into account current demand and future growth projections, our client is well positioned to respond to the needs of the market.”
Walker Barnett of Colliers International represented the owner of 14810 North Freeway in the Houston transaction.
