ARLINGTON, Texas – D.R. Horton, the largest home builder in the nation, is moving its headquarters from Fort Worth to Arlington.
The builder will construct 150,000 square feet of headquarters office space on six acres along Interstate 30 near North Collins Street.
D.R. Horton, which builds houses in 27 states, sold 34,684 homes in the 12-month period that ended June 30. Horton is having success attracting first-time homebuyers. In the quarter Horton’s closed sales increased 28 percent to 9,856 homes, compared to 7,676 homes in the prior year quarter.
Horton’s net income for its third fiscal quarter ended June 30, 2015 increased 96 percent to $221.4 million, or 60 cents per share, from $113.1 million, or 32 cents per share, in the same quarter of fiscal 2014
