HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – The strength of the Texas housing market continued in October with home prices increasing for the second consecutive month, according to the HomesUSA.com. Average new home prices rose statewide to $357,547 in October from $355,821 in September.
The Dallas-Ft. Worth market takes top billing with the highest new home price at $374,871 and remains the state and nation’s largest new home market in total sales.
Austin has Texas’ second highest average new home price at $368,728, up slightly from September. Houston’s average new home price in October was $358,490 and San Antonio’s new home average price was $295,322.
“Texas continues to be the nation’s hottest new homes market,” said Ben Caballero, owner of HomesUSA.com. “Despite signs of stabilizing, 2018 is going to be a record year for new home sales in Texas.”
The report cited that the number of days on market for new homes was slightly higher across the state, and the number of new home sales by city showed both slight increases and decreases in activity last month.
Houston has 1,280 new home sales in October, up from1,277 in Septermber, HomesUSA reported.
