HOUSTON – Skanska USA Development has started construction on a $100 million office building in the Energy Corridor district in west Houston.
West Memorial Place II will be a 14-story office building with approximately 380,000 square feet of rentable space. It is targeted for LEED Platinum certification. The new office building will be adjacent to West Memorial Place I, Skanska’s first development on this site at 15375 Memorial Drive next to Terry Hershey Park.
West Memorial Place II is scheduled to be completed end of 2015.
The first phase of the project, West Memorial Place I, is a 12-story, HOK-designed 325,000-square-foot building that is nearing completion. Petroleum Geo-Service of Norway leased 122,000 square feet in the first building and Ventari Resources, which focus on Gulf of Mexico exploration, leased a full floor recently.
