Brookfield Properties Upgrades Downtown Portfolio

HOUSTON — (Realty News Report) – Brookfield Properties continues to upgrade its large portfolio of downtown properties, including its multi-tower office complexes – Allen Center and Houston Center.

At Allen Center: Construction recently began on the much-anticipated Mendocino Farms  location at Two Allen Center. The upscale fast-casual sandwich and salad destination is leasing 2,849 SF of space on the ground floor and is anticipated to open in spring 2022.The opening at Two Allen Center marks Mendocino’s fifth location in the Houston area.

Now open and eager to welcome patrons back is the C. Baldwin Hotel’s signature restaurant Rosalie Italian Soul. Top Chef Masters winner Chef Chris Cosentino’s 145-seat restaurant delivers old-school Italian soul to deliver a fresh, upscale take on the beloved “immigrant cuisine” that put Italian-American food on the map.

At Houston Center: Brookfield has announced renovation plans for its 3 Houston Center, a 51-story downtown building also known as Fulbright Tower. The 3 Houston Center office tower is located at 1301 McKinney Street in downtown Houston. “When Brookfield Property Partners acquired Houston Center in 2017, we pledged to make meaningful capital upgrades that would completely transform the campus into a dynamic and vibrant downtown destination,” said Travis Overall, Executive Vice President and Head of the Texas Region for Brookfield Properties. “With this next chapter of renovations focused on 3 Houston Center, we can proudly say that we have honored our commitment.”

Construction on 3 Houston Center is expected to commence in May 2022 and end in early 2023. Brookfield Properties has enlisted global architecture and design firm Gensler as the project architect.

Recently, Brookfield Properties also announced plans to renovate and rebrand The Shops at Houston Center. Upgrades to the existing retail center – which will be renamed The Highlight – is designed to create a destination for Houston Centertenants and visitors alike.
