HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Burlington Stores, a national off-price retailer, will re-open its east Houston store Friday after extensive repairs and remodeling following damage from Hurricane Harvey.

Burlington said 75 employees have been hired to work at the re-built store, 12001 East Freeway, and another 20 or 25 will be hired shortly.

“This store was devastated by Hurricane Harvey and as a result, it has received a full makeover, offering a fresh new store experience to area residents. It has brought new jobs and provided support to the local community,” Burlington said in a press release.

“As part of the grand opening celebration, Burlington will formally acknowledge its $685,000 donation to The American Red Cross and their Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts. These funds were raised at all Burlington stores nationwide this past fall to help provide the necessary resources and supplies for those impacted by the Hurricane.”

Additionally, Burlington donated $100,000 in gift cards through its national partner, Delivering Good, to support those families affected in the communities devastated by this natural disaster.

“We are thrilled to re-open this Burlington location in the Houston community, bringing jobs back to the neighborhood and providing local residents with a valued shopping experience,” says Tom Kingsbury, President, CEO and Chairman of Burlington Stores.
