Colliers Opens Office in Austin, the Fastest Growing City in the Nation

AUSTIN – Seattle-based Colliers International announced its re-entry into the Austin commercial real estate brokerage market.

Austin is an exceptionally strong market, boosted by the technology industry and population growth. The central Texas city led the nation in population growth in 2013, with a 2.6 percent gain, according to U.S. Census of cities with a population of 1 million or more.

Collier’s new Austin presence will be anchored by three of the city’s top office brokers: Marc Vanderslice, Doug Jones, and Volney Campbell. Formerly with HPI Corporate Services, the team will extend Colliers’ full-service professional services platform to the area, offering all lines of commercial brokerage and consultation.

Vanderslice, Jones and Campbell bring nearly fifty years of brokerage experience to Colliers, consistently ranking among the top five brokers in the city, according to the Austin Business Journal. The team has worked together for almost 10 years and their clients include some of Austin’s best-known success stories, such as SpareFoot, 21CT, Q2ebanking, MutualMobile, and Spredfast.

“The team’s experience growing their previous company into one of the most competitive in the city makes them a perfect fit for the entrepreneurial culture at Colliers. They’ll be great representatives of the brand in Austin,” said Patrick Duffy, President of Colliers in Houston.

Colliers International currently has Texas offices in Dallas and Houston, with more than 90 commercial real estate consultants and over 160 total professionals.

Austin, with 1.8 million people, led the nation in population growth on a percentage basis. In terms of numeric growth, Houston gained 137,692 people in 2013, more than any other city in the nation.
