GEORGETOWN, Texas – Hines, the Houston-based real estate firm, along with joint venture partner Novak Brothers, recently held a groundbreaking ceremony celebrating the start of construction of a Sheraton hotel that will be part of a mixed-used project in in Georgetown, which is 25 miles north of downtown Austin.

The developers are building a 222-room Sheraton Georgetown Texas Hotel and Conference Center in Georgetown.

The new Starwood-operated hotel will be a 196,284-square-foot hotel located in the Summit at Rivery Park, a 32-acre mixed-use development located on Rivery Boulevard in Georgetown. The seven-story, four-star hotel will also include a 30,000-square-foot conference center and a three-level parking garage with 340 spaces.

The Sheraton Georgetown Texas Hotel and Conference Center will anchor the Summit at Rivery Park development by The Novak Brothers that will also include residential townhomes, shops and office space. The Summit at Rivery Park overlooks the San Gabriel River and provides direct access to the hiking and biking trails in Rivery Park.

Hines Director Andy Heard commented, “We are very excited to partner with Novak Brothers to enter the Georgetown hospitality market with the renowned Sheraton brand.”

Construction on the hotel and conference center will be complete summer 2016. The mixed-use project, west of Interstate 35 and north of Highway 29, will also have apartments, retail and brownstone residential units.

Hines has partnered with Starwood on the development of several other properties including The Westin Riverwalk, San Antonio, The Westin Galleria Dallas and The Westin Oaks Houston Hotel at the Galleria.

Georgetown-based Novak Brothers is a residential and mixed-use builder led by Jeff Novak, Jack Novak and Jim Cramer.
