Historic Main Street Buildings Attract Tech Tenants

HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Two tech firms have leased space in the Main&Co historic redevelopment on Main Street at Commerce in north downtown Houston.

Ruths.ai leased 8,457 SF and UiPath leased 5,187 SF.

NewForm Real Estate, led by Dan Zimmerman, redeveloped the buildings. The Dorrance Building, 114 Main, was completed in 1903. The adjacent Raphael Building was built in the 1800s.

The five-story downtown historic development, previously restored and modernized with completion in June 2018, is characterized by a mix of original exposed brick walls and ceiling beams, glass windows and sky-lights, restored and refinished hardwood floors, stainless-steel kitchens and private en-suite bathrooms. The redevelopment is home to The Cottonmouth Club, ETRO Nightclub and Lilly&Bloom – all cocktail lounges on Main Street, and LCD Gallery, a contemporary arts space on the fifth level. A 7,000 SF mural named Produce Row, a nod to Commerce Street’s history as the site for Houston’s first farmers market in the 1870s, was completed by Houston artist DUAL in November 2018 and anchors the intersection of Main and Commerce streets.
