Invesco Signs Major Lease in Greenway Plaza

HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Invesco Group Services has extended its 180,000 SF lease in the Eleven Greenway Plaza, a 31-story tower in the Greenway Plaza development in Houston’s Inner Loop owned by Parkway Property Investments.

Invesco’s occupancy in Greenway Plaza began over 40 years ago with when the firm was called AIM Management Group.

“A blue-chip tenant like Invesco certainly has the wherewithal to locate its offices wherever it desires, so the decision to remain on the bustling Greenway Plaza campus feels like validation of the location, the multitude of productivity and lifestyle enhancements on the campus and the meticulous operational capability Parkway brings to the table,” said Eric Siegrist, Parkway’s Managing Director of Leasing,

Director of Leasing Amanda Nebel negotiated on behalf of Parkway. Vice Chairman John Shlesinger led the CBRE Houston team representing Invesco in the transaction.

Vice Chairman John Shlesinger led the CBRE team, which included Kevin Kushner, in representing Invesco in the transaction.

The 52-acre Greenway Plaza, located near the Southwest Freeway and Buffalo Speedway, is built on property blocked up by Kenneth Schnitzer of Century Development about 50 years ago. The assemblage, which included 500 single-family homes, was a monumental feat in the history of Houston real estate.

Greenway Plaza includes 11 office buildings, with over 5 million SF of office space, plus retail, hotel and other properties. Prior owners included Cousins Properties and Crescent Real Estate.

Greenway Plaza tenants include a 150,000-SFt Life Time Diamond Club fitness facility, as well as an array of food and beverage concepts, including Feges BBQ, Tony’s, Fusion Eats and Greenway Coffee.

Occidental Petroleum, a Houston-based firm that has frequently changed its real estate plans, occupies about 1 million SF in Greenway Plaza.
