AUSTIN – A Japanese builder has acquired the remaining land in master planned communities in Austin, Dallas and Denver – some 3,400 acres from Wheelock Street Capital.

The acquired acres will yield more than 4,600 single-family lots and 125 commercial acres.
The buyer is North American Sekisui House, a subsidiary of Japanese builder and developer Sekisui House Ltd. The firm will develop the communities with San Diego-based Newland Communities.
The Texas properties included in the transaction include Sweetwater in Austin and Canyon Falls, in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Also included are two Denver area communities – Anthem Colorado in Broomfield and Inspiration Colorado in northern Douglas County.
Houston-based Ted Nelson, Newland’s Central Region President, will oversee the four communities for Newland.
North American Sekisui House, (NASH), which is based in Arlington, Va., and Newland develop and manage a portfolio of more than 30 active communities in the U.S.
