HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – Hines, the international real estate firm based in Houston, announced that Laura Hines-Pierce has been promoted to Senior Managing Director – Office of the CEO.

Ms. Hines-Pierce is the granddaughter of master developer Gerald D. Hines, who founded the company in Houston in 1957.

In her new role, Ms. Hines-Pierce will work alongside President and CEO Jeff Hines “to help shape firmwide strategy, manage key risks and ensure Hines is consistently on the leading edge of being the best real estate investor, partner and manager in the world,” the company  said.

Jeff Hines said, “The Office of the CEO was established in 2018 to ensure that the third generation of our family successfully carries the Hines baton well into the future and continues to champion our values, safeguard our culture and support our global workforce in pursuit of our vision. I look forward to working with my eldest daughter in continuing to drive the company to new heights in all of its disciplines.”

Ms. Hines-Pierce joined Hines in 2012 and was responsible for project management of developments and support of new business opportunities in the Midwest and Southeast Regions. She served as Project Manager for River Point, a 1.1 million-square-foot, 52-story office tower and 1.5-acre park located in Chicago’s West Loop submarket. Her responsibilities included zoning and entitlement, relationship management with equity partner Ivanhoé Cambridge, budget and schedule oversight, design and construction coordination, financial analysis, leasing and marketing.

In 2017, she relocated to Houston to work in the Office of the Chief Investment Officer, focused on several firm-wide initiatives that have helped to refine investment strategy and acquisition efforts. In September 2018, she was named the firm’s Transformation Officer to support the firm’s strategic and transformative efforts across the business. In addition, Ms. Hines-Pierce was part of the grassroots team that established the OneHines Women’s Network, leading to the creation of our Diversity & Inclusion initiative.

Prior to joining Hines, she worked for Sotheby’s in New York and interned at Eastdil Secured. She graduated from Duke University with a BA in Economics and Art History, and received her MBA from Harvard University.

Hines has a presence in 205 cities in 24 countries and it has 165 developments currently underway around the world. Historically, Hines has developed, redeveloped or acquired 1,393 properties, totaling over 459 million square feet.

Hines is developing the 47-story Texas Tower on the site of the former Houston Chronicle building in downtown Houston.
